EMDR Therapy
I’m an EMDRIA-certified Therapist and trained to guide you through Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy for lasting relief from traumatic memories and overwhelming emotions. EMDR is an evidence-based approach that helps your brain reprocess distressing experiences so they no longer hijack your nervous system.

How EMDR supports healing.
Trauma Resolution without Re-Traumatization
Instead of repeatedly discussing every painful detail, you will focus on specific distressing images and beliefs. EMDR allows your brain to process those targets and reduce their emotional intensity without overwhelming you.
Reduction of Symptoms
Clients often report significant declines in anxiety levels, fewer flashbacks and nightmares, and a shift from negative self-beliefs to more adaptive thoughts. This relief helps you reclaim daily functioning and improve your quality of life.
Holistic Integration
I combine EMDR with somatic awareness, breath work, and neuroregulation techniques informed by polyvagal theory. This integration ensures that changes at the cognitive level are grounded in bodily safety and lead to lasting healing.

Trauma-Informed
Individual Therapy
We will follow a precise sequence of eight phases, including history taking, preparation, assessment, desensitization, installation, body scan, closure, and reevaluation. This systematic process ensures that you move through each step at a safe and manageable pace.
-
History Taking
We begin by getting to know you—your life story, your current challenges, your strengths, and the patterns that may be holding you back. This phase helps us identify target memories and experiences that are linked to your present-day symptoms. It also helps build the foundation of trust and collaboration between you and your therapist.
-
Preparation
Next, we focus on resourcing and stabilization. You’ll learn practical coping skills, grounding techniques, and emotional regulation tools to ensure that you feel safe and supported before we approach deeper material. The goal here is to help you feel equipped and in control throughout the process.
-
Assessment
In this phase, we identify the specific memory or experience we’re targeting in the session. Together, we explore the image, thoughts, emotions, and body sensations associated with the memory. We also establish baseline measures so we can track your progress as desensitization begins.
-
Desensitization
This is where the reprocessing begins. Using bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements, tapping, or audio tones), we help your brain process the distressing memory in a way that removes the emotional charge. You may experience shifts in thoughts, feelings, or body sensations as your brain begins to make new connections.
-
Installation
Once the distress around the memory has been reduced, we strengthen a new, positive belief to replace the old, unhelpful one. For example, “I am powerless” may be replaced with “I am in control now.” This phase supports integration of healthier self-perceptions.
-
Body Scan
Trauma is stored in the body, so we check to ensure there is no lingering distress held physically. You’ll be guided to notice any remaining sensations, and we’ll address anything that still feels “stuck” to promote full mind-body healing.
-
Closure
Whether the memory was fully processed or not, we always end sessions by helping you return to a place of stability. We use relaxation techniques and revisit your inner resources so you leave feeling grounded and emotionally regulated.
-
Reevaluation
At the start of each new session, we revisit previous targets to ensure that the gains are lasting. If needed, we fine-tune or complete additional processing. This phase ensures continuity, integration, and long-term healing.
